Things to do in Fall 2020

Fall looks a little bit different this year, much like everything else in 2020. BUT, that doesn’t mean you can’t still do any fun fall activities. Masks and social distancing will most likely be part of your fall plans, but at least that will help keep you safe in these unprecedented times! It already snowed here in Minnesota, which is actually pretty typical for October, so I squeezed my fall activities into 2 weeks (short fall season here, sadly).

Visit the Apple Orchard & Pumpkin Patch!

I feel like there are two types of people… those who visit the apple orchard, and those that head for the pumpkin patch! While I love a good pumpkin patch, I absolutely LOVE fresh Honeycrisp apples and I grab a bag of them every fall. My mom and I visited the Pine Tree Apple Orchard, which also happens to have a pumpkin patch! If you are looking to go somewhere that has both, HERE you go!

We went at about 5pm on a Saturday, and there was quite a long line to get in. I think it was mostly because they had to limit the number of people in the bakery line, and so traffic was just a bit backed up. I think it took us maybe 20 minutes to get inside the bakery building, which really isn’t all that bad for fresh apple baked goods! Everyone was required to social distance and wear a mask in the building, so I was glad to see they were taking the preventative measures. The only downside to Pine Tree is that it’s not a “pick-your-own” apple orchard, but they do let you take photo-ops! ;)

Go for a Fall Hike!

If you love being outdoors as much as I do, then you could always scope out a new hiking trail! We drove to Eden Prairie, MN to hike this trail around Bryant Lake. This was about a 5 mile hike, and is mostly paved, so I think it would be good for all skill levels! The trail is SO beautiful in the fall with all of the beautiful leaves, and has some great views of the lake. Part of the path was underwater, but it was easy enough to climb around that part of the path. We grabbed a much-needed Starbucks after this 5 miles hike and there’s one real close by for my fellow coffee lovers. If you don’t have the AllTrails app yet, it’s great for finding new hiking trails near you!

Girls Night In!

Not being able to see friends very often has been difficult this year, so it was great to see my absolute BEST friends from college and get together before the snow flies! Normally, we would be out tailgating or bar-hopping, but I was super happy just see these ladies in person and catch up! If you can do it safely and feel comfortable, having a little girls night can be good for the soul!
