24 Hours in Chicago

what we did and where we went

My good friend Amanda had her wedding reception this past weekend at a White Sox vs. Twins game in Chicago, and this was my first time in the city! We drove about 6 hours from Minneapolis and picked up my friend Brock in Wisconsin so that we could carpool the rest of the way. This was the coolest wedding reception idea I’ve ever heard of, and it was definitely a memorable weekend.

The dress code was either dressy or in baseball gear, we were free to choose what we wanted. I chose dressy of course, and went with this deep blue colored dress from Express. It is a little bit older, otherwise I would link it here! We stayed in a private box suite and watched the game while we had dinner. The White Sox ended up winning the game which was the perfect end to the day!

We stayed at the Renaissance Schaumberg Convention Center Hotel which was beautiful and has some awesome features.

We decided to get an early start the next day since we had a 6 hour drive ahead of us. We couldn’t leave Chicago without trying some famous deep dish pizza though, so we stopped at Lou Malnati’s, which was the highest rated pizza joint near our location. We were NOT disappointed. I am normally a thin crust fan only, but this pizza was on another level. We got the classic deep dish, and it was worth every calorie.

After pizza, we took a little walk around the area, snapped a few pictures for Instagram, and headed back to the cities! It was a busy 24 hours, but it was so much fun! Check out our vlog below for more!
