A week in St. Augustine, Florida

what we did & where we stayed

To be honest, I kind of had low expectations for my first time in Florida with everything you hear in the media I wasn't expecting to love it as much as I did! I was fresh off a trip to Jamaica, and had been laid off from my job a week prior so I was excited to get back into some sunshine and relaxation. We chose to stay in St. Augustine since neither of us had ever been there and it’s the oldest settled city in the United States, which is pretty neat. We stayed at an Airbnb condo right next to the ocean with our own beach access.

GHOST TOUR

St. Augustine's history goes way back and its widely known for its haunted attractions. There are several types of ghost tours you can do, whether its at the haunted prison, or just walking around on a guided tour within the city. We chose to do the latter and it was so much fun! If you get spooked easily though I don't recommend it.

BEACH BIKE RENTAL

We rented bikes to use on the beach from Drifters Beach & Bike Rentals which was super fun and great for some aesthetic pictures;) Not going to lie, it's also a great workout it's hard to bike on the beach!

FISHING OFF THE PIER

I love fishing but I refuse to touch the bait or the fish LOL but it was so cool fishing off the huge pier, and I even caught a little guy!

ATE a ton

Florida has some of the best seafood and coconut shrimp I’ve ever had in my life! St. Augustine is also home to Pizza Time - the #2 best pizza joint in the US, and let me tell you it was worth the 40 minute line - AMAZING.

ALLIGATOR FARM

If you want to see hundreds of alligators - then this one is for you. There’s also tortoises, and a few other reptiles to see. Some of these alligators are ginormous!
